Rocca Sanvitale opens its doors for a guided tour to discover the Apotheosis Room, an admirable 18th century fresco by the Florentine painter Sebastiano Galeotti (Florence 1676 - Mondovì 1746), commissioned by Duke Antonio Farnese between 1724 - 1727.
The room is not located inside the Rocca Sanvitale, but in the south-east corner of the Cortaccia, adjacent to and once connected to the Rocca. The fresco depicts the Farnese apotheosis, where deities and personifications of arts and virtues gather around Duke Farnese.
