It is as if, all of a sudden, those iridescent landscapes and undergrowth that give the table some of the most sublime products and a myriad of villages a distinctive scent and colors, capable of inspiring fairs and festivals that exalt nature and its fruits, lay down the law.
In the territory of Parma, Piacenza and Reggio Emilia, food often meets history on breathtaking routes that claim the uniqueness of polychrome landscapes dotted with jewels of human ingenuity.
Pumpkins, truffles, mushrooms, chestnuts and the grapes that become wine are at the center of a rampant feast of flavors that breaks down boundaries in the name of the slow rediscovery of pleasures, an existential secret that allows the senses to be brought together, matching the triumph of taste with the satiety of sight.
Starting from the Shallot Festival in Castelvetro Piacentino (September 1 to 4) to the Mushroom Festival in Succiso, Ventasso (September 10-11), the Polenta Festival in Baiso to the Porcini Mushroom Festival in Civago di Villa Minozzo in Reggio Emilia.
Carpaneto Piacentino will stage the Coppa Picentina DOP Festival, while San Giorgio Piacentino will host the Mushroom festival and the palio del fungaiolo.
On the two weekends of September 17 and 24, the porcino becomes the star at the Borgotaro IGP Mushroom Fair and from September 30 to October 2, at the National Porcini Mushroom Fair in Albareto (PR).
Truffles will be celebrated at the Grape Festival and Mushroom and Truffle exhibition in Bobbio, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, at the Provincial Truffle and Undergwowth products Review in Pecorara (PC), at the Truffle Festival in Cavola (RE) and at the Black Truffle Festival of Fragno in Calestano (PR).
For wine lovers, meet in Scandiano on August 31 and on September 7 at Goblets in the Fortress. Not to be missed is the Valtidone West fest involving the Piacenza villages of Val Tidone.
In Reggiolo (RE) the Pumpkin Fair will be staged, while in Guastalla Lost Plants and Animals. From Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, Piacenza's white garlic will be the star of the Garlic Fair in Monticelli d'Ongina (PC), while chestnuts will be celebrated for three Sundays in October in Marola at the 58th Chestnut Festival (RE).
In November, the Bassa Parmense will host November Porc with stops in Sissa-Trecasali, Polesine Parmense, Zibello and Roccabianca.
